Story | William also fought in France in the first World War. He served in the 1st/7th Battalion Durham Light Infantry Reg. No. 2946. William was killed in action on Nov. 5th 1916 He is buried at Wallencourt War Graves Cemetery Flanders France. We don't have a photo of William but we do have a drawing of a wooden cross which marked where he was originally buried in France. I went on to ask if the fallen were left where originally buried or transferred to the War Cemeteries and Mrs Somay of CWGC replied that Corporal Malia original place of burial was due East of a village named Le Sars, which is South East of Warlencourt before he was reburied at Warlencourt British War Cemeterty
