StoryThe Third Great Uncle was James Malia Born April 1892 James had been a van driver at a laundry in Sunderland before he joined the Royal Field Artillery as a driver Service No. 86055 As far as we know He was also wounded in France and brought back to Steyning in Sussex where he died aged 27,on February 27th 1919 after which his remains were returned to Sunderland where he is interred at Bishopwearmouth Cemetery. A list of the distribution of his effects which amounted to just under £26 of which £24 was War Gratuity, This was dived equally between his Mother and siblings his father having died the previous year.
