Story | John Born in Boldon to mother Susannah Muir moved to Harrogate in the 30's then to Scarborough where he enlisted in the Army, He was a member of the Green Howards, (Alexandria, Princess of Wales own Yorkshire Regiment, Scarborough) when he was awarded the military Medal (WO 373/25/170) on the 17/6/1943 for his bravery in the Middle East, Egypt and Libya. Married to 1st wife Ida Blakeborough with child Jean Muir, widowed in 1936 then 2nd wife Constance Edna Goodlad, with children Barbara Muir, Robert Muir, Clive Muir and Neville Muir. Died 1984 in Scarborough aged 70.
