| Story | Gordon Edgerton Air raid Warden and Scoutmaster of a church troop in the village age 19 died when a number of incediaries fell and it was in tackling one of these that George was killed by a high explosive Bomb. Sadly witnessed by his Father George Edgerton a Senior ARP officer at the time who in the face of this adversity carried on with his duties in trying to save others for which he was later awarded the British Empire Medal (B.E.M.) |
