He lived with his father Joseph Wilson b1854, mother Margaret Jane Wilson b1855, brothers Matthew dodds Wilson b1885, Allen Wilson b 1888, Geoffrey Wilson b1910 and sisters Sareeh Wilson b1886, Isabell Wilson b1890. He enlisted in the Northumberland Fusiliers 22nd Battalion (Tyneside Scottish). He died in Flanders on the 5th of June 1917.
