| Story | Ernest Born in Rotheram was employed at the colliery as a miner, he travelled wherever the work took him and ended up at Boldon Colliery Pit. when he joined the army in 8/9/14 he served in the Durham Light Infantry 15th Battalion as a Machine Gunner, He was promoted several times up to the rank of Sergeant at the time of his death on the 1st July 1916 age 24. Brother to Thomas Priest, Clifford Priest Lilly Taylor, Alice Rockett as well as Pheobe, Annie and Susannah.
